The Town of Hammonton’s annual loose-leaf collection is underway and will run through December 18, 2026.
While pickups are generally scheduled around your regular trash day, holidays and inclement weather may cause delays. The Public Works Department collects approximately 3 million pounds of leaves each fall and appreciates your patience during this busy season.
To help crews move quickly and safely, residents are asked to follow these guidelines:
- Placement: Rake leaves into the area between the sidewalk and the curb. Have all leaf piles ready before Monday of your scheduled pickup week, as crews may collect them on any day that week.
- Safety: Keep leaves entirely out of the street and off sidewalks. Avoid placing piles under low-hanging trees, and keep nearby storm drains clear to prevent street flooding.
- Sorting: Keep leaves completely separate from branches, brush, and other yard waste. Ensure piles are free of foreign objects like metal or heavy tree limbs to protect equipment and prevent staff injuries.
