Friel Reference: Fatal Helicopter Crash, Hammonton, NJ At approximately 11:25 AM on December 28th, 2025 the Hammonton Police Department received a report of an aviation crash between two helicopters. The midair collision was between an Enstrom model 280C and an Enstrom model F-28A which had both departed from the Hammonton Municipal Airport. The helicopters crash landed in a field and tree line in the 100 block of Basin Road. One helicopter was engulfed in flames. PSA: There will be no recycling or trash collection on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25 or New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Both holiday collections will experience a one-day delay. Trash collection scheduled for Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, will proceed as planned without any postponement. Bulk trash collection week is Jan. 5-9, 2026.
