Business Registration Information
All businesses that are physically located in the Town of Hammonton must file a business registration application with the Town Clerk’s office.
Your application must include a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (COI), which you can obtain from your insurance provider. IMPORTANT: Your COI must identify the Town of Hammonton as the Certificate Holder. See sample form.
Application and COI can be mailed to:
Hammonton Town Hall
Attn. Clerk’s Office Business Registration
100 Central Ave., Hammonton, NJ 08037
Please include a self addressed stamped envelope.
The State of New Jersey has enacted Bill S1368. This law requires the owner of a business to maintain liability insurance for negligent acts and omissions in an amount of no less than $500,000 for combined property damage and bodily injury to or death of one or more persons in any one accident or occurrence.
The owner of a Hammonton business must annually register a COI with the Town of Hammonton and demonstrate compliance with section 1 of this act.
IMPOTANT: A COI that identifies the Town of Hammonton as the Certificate Holder must be turned in with your application. We cannot renew your license without it.
The registration form submitted for each business must contain updated emergency information with the names, addresses and telephone numbers to be contacted after business hours in reference to building security, damage, or any occurrence that requires access to any facility owned or operated by such business.
A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is a document issued by an insurance company or broker. The certificate verifies the existence of an insurance policy and contains the name of the insurance company, policy number, name of the insured, types and limits of coverage and the policy period.
