Municipal Clerk
The Office of the Municipal Clerk serves as a direct link between residents and their local government. Duties include:
- Secretary to the Governing Body
- Administrative Official (licenses, registrations, public information)
- Registrar of Vital Statistics
- Certification of Documents in Clerk’s Office

Local Registrar of Vital Statistics
Duties:
- Process Non-Genealogical and Genealogical Birth, Death and Marriage requests for events that took place in Hammonton.
- Process marriage applications and Issue Marriage Licenses and Certified Copies.
- Issue Certified Copies
Marriage License or Civil Union
Applicants must apply in their municipality of residence within the State of New Jersey. If both applicants reside outside of New Jersey but plan to marry in New Jersey, they must apply in the municipality where they intend to marry.
Both applicants and one witness, 18 years of age or older who knows both parties, must appear before the Registrar to apply.
The application fee is $28.00. There is a 72 hour waiting period and once issued the license is valid for 30 days.
Birth, Death and Marriage Certified Copies
Non-Genealogical Records are births occurring within the last 80 years or if the individual is still living, marriages occurring within the last 50 years, deaths occurring within the last 40 years and all civil union and domestic partnership records.
Genealogical Records are births occurring more than 80 years ago (unless the individual is still living), marriages occurring more than 50 years ago and deaths occurring more than 40 years ago.

- Payroll and reports filing
- Prepare and advertise of Bids, Quotes, Professional, Specialized, Unspecifiable Services
- Payment of bills
- Keeper of municipal bank accounts and general ledger
Hammonton Business License
All businesses that are physically located in the Town of Hammonton must file a business registration application with the Town Clerk’s office.
Permit: Food Truck, Hawker, Peddler, Solicitor, Vendor
A license is mandatory for all hawkers, peddlers, vendors, solicitors, canvassers, food truck operators, door-to-door vendors, seasonal sales vendors, and special event vendors wishing to conduct business within the Town of Hammonton.
