This building, constructed in the spring of 1887 by William Bernshouse, originally functioned as Hammonton Town Hall. It transitioned to the Hammonton Public Library from 1928 until 1959 and underwent renovations in 1939. Following its time as a kindergarten from 1959 to 1965, the structure was repurposed in 1976 as the museum for the Historical Society of Hammonton, a role it still fulfills today. In 2007, it was relocated to its current site after the new Town Hall was established on its original location on Vine Street.
