The Hammonton Public Works Department oversees the upkeep and cleanliness of all municipal roads and properties. Its responsibilities include brush, leaf, and grass removal, snow clearance, roadside mowing, and the maintenance of parks and recreational areas, including park sprinkler systems. Additionally, the department manages town street signage, road grading, repairs, and maintenance, as well as the Storm Water Program and trash collection. To ensure compliance with state recycling laws, the department collaborates with Atlantic County Utilities Authority ACUA to promote and monitor the recycling program.
Bulk trash is collected on the first full week of each month.
Items must be placed at the curb prior to 6:00 a.m. Rugs, padding, paint and chemicals are not permitted.
Brush and yard waste will be collected during the second full week of each month.
Please make sure your yard waste does not exceed a 6’x6’x6’ pile. Clippings should be placed at the curb, cut ends to the road, before 6:00 a.m.
Municipal trash cans are the property of the Town of Hammonton.
The trash cans are assigned to residential addresses and are not transferable to another location or address. Property owners should call the Public Works Department at 609-567-4336 to report a damaged or stolen trash can and begin the Town’s process of replacing or repairing it.
