Hammonton Convenience Station “The Dump”
Open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Convenience Station is located at the former municipal landfill site at 966 8th Street, Hammonton, NJ. Residents must obtain a dump permit from the Tax Collector’s window located on the second floor at Hammonton Town Hall, 100 Central Avenue. Call 609-567-4300 ext. 119 for details. There is no charge for a permit but you must show proof of residency. A permit is also required when entering the Convenience Station.
Please prepare your items for separation into labeled dumpsters when you arrive. Unlimited metal loads and yard waste is accepted at the facility. Permit holders will also be allowed to discard 4 bulky loads per year. Rugs and rug padding is accepted at the dump but can NOT be disposed of in your curb-side trash. Latex paint is not hazardous and can be dried and discarded in your regular trash.
Vehicle batteries must be taken to the Hammonton Highway Garage on 394 S. Egg Harbor Road, Monday through Friday. Please place your battery on the pallet located near the oil tank. Electronics are collected curbside during Hammonton’s monthly bulk waste collection.
Items ACCEPTED at the Convenience Station:
- Televisions
- Computers and monitors
- Roof shingles in small quantities
- Brush and yard waste (tree branches)
- Hot water tanks
- Oil tanks (must be empty)
- Refrigerators, freezers ($10 freon permit required for each item)
- Furniture, rugs, rug padding and mattresses
Items NOT at the Convenience Station:
- Construction and commercial debris
- Home remodeling debris
- Concrete, cement bricks and or blocks
- Household trash
- Recycling (glass and paper)
- Tires
The Convenience Station is for Hammonton residents only. Businesses of any kind, including contractors and commercial establishments, are not permitted to use the facility. Residents are required to use a dumpster for construction and remodeling debris and should never be considered bulk trash.
Items that are not accepted at the dump can be taken to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) located at 6700 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township. Please check ACUA for a detailed list of accepted materials or call 609-272-6950.
