SUMMARY:Annual Downtown Cleanup and Flower Planting
DESCRIPTION:MainStreet Hammonton invites residents to take part in the annual Downtown Cleanup and Flower Planting on Saturday\, May 9 at 9:00 AM\, a spring tradition focused on community pride and keeping Hammonton looking its best. \nVolunteers are encouraged to arrive between 8:45 and 9:00 AM at the Historic Hammonton Train Station\, located at 10 S. Egg Harbor Road\, to sign in and receive instructions. Participants will have the opportunity to join one of two groups. One group will plant flowers in the beds surrounding the street trees along 12th Street and Bellevue Avenue. The other will focus on litter removal across five designated zones throughout Downtown Hammonton. \n“There is something important about getting your hands dirty and seeing the work you actually put into a place\,” said Ty Wilson\, Executive Director of MainStreet Hammonton. “When you spend time cleaning up or planting downtown\, you start to feel a sense of ownership in how it looks and how it is taken care of. That is what builds pride in the community.” \nThanks to the support of the Atlantic County Utilities Authority\, all necessary supplies will be provided\, and volunteers may receive a commemorative t shirt. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty\, along with sturdy shoes suitable for outdoor work. The event will run until approximately noon. \nThis year’s event is supported by Riverview Landscape\, Ron’s Gardens\, the Town of Hammonton Public Works Department\, and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority.
