“Weather permitting, the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control plans to treat parts of Hammonton as part of its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes.  The area to be treated is bounded by Packard St., Fairview Ave., Thirteenth St., Grand St., Passmore Ave., Egg Harbor Rd. and Grape street.   No other Atlantic County communities are scheduled for spraying at this time.

Spraying to reduce adult mosquitoes using ground application equipment will take place on Thursday evening, October 5, between 7:00pm and 9:00pm.  Ground spraying will be done using Scourge, the trade name for resmethrin, applied as an ultra-low volume aerosol.”

  • Staying indoors during application to immediate area
  • Keeping windows shut, window fans and air conditioners off ( or set to circulate indoor air) during spraying
  • Keeping children’s toys indoors
  • Keeping pets indoors, as well as their food, water dishes and toys.
