Dear Friends,
First, on behalf of Council and the residents of Hammonton, I would like to thank Councilman Jerry Barberio and Councilman Tom Gribbin for their dedication and years of service to our community.
Today the town welcomes back Deputy Mayor Rodio and Councilmen Mickey Pullia, Paul Espositio and Mike Torrissi to the 2012 Hammonton Town Council.
I would also like to welcome Councilman Steve Furgione and Councilwoman Annie Carpo to the 2012 Hammonton Town Council.
Over the last six years our town government has slowly restructured and repositioned itself for the betterment of this community. We have weathered the economic storms and emerged with a clear vision and direction. The success of many business openings and our increasing commercial rateable base in the past six years has been unparalleled. In that same period, our tax rate has been flat.
Hammonton continues to be on the move, and in 2012, we look forward to projects such as the opening of Stockton College right in the heart of our downtown for the fall semester. The opportunities created with the former Kessler Hospital being turned into a medical mall providing jobs and healthcare options for our residence. In addition, we look forward to the re-tooling of the former White Hall site and new jobs in manufacturing and a thriving industry.
As residents of this town, I invite you to stand along with us, as you have done in the past, to continue to truly embody what being a Hammontonian means: helping a neighbor in need, standing together for a cause and supporting our town and our fellow residents. I ask you to do this by volunteering for the many service organizations, reaching out a hand to a friend and by shopping, dining and using local services.
I would like to thank my family for their love and support. I would also like to thank publicly the families of Town Council and all our public servants for giving up time with their loved ones so they can serve the greater good of our community.
Thank you and Have a Happy & Blessed New Year!
Sincerely,
Mayor Steve DiDonato
